In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Registered Care Aide provides resident care in accordance with resident-centred care philosophy and established regional and facility policies and procedures. As part of the multidisciplinary team and under the direction of the Manager or designate, the Registered Care Aide performs nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration in addition to resident care duties relating to activities of daily living, including personal, social, physical and recreational needs. Transports residents and performs clerical duties.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Evenings - 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00, Rotating
The Pines is a one-level facility with two main resident wings centered around common activity, lounge and dining areas. The Pines provides Recreational Therapy Services on a daily basis. Pastoral and Spiritual Services are provided by local clergy and other spiritual care resources. There is a Volunteer Program in place to accompany Residents on social outings, appointments, and assist with feeding. Hairdressing and barber services are available on site for a fee determined by the service provider. The Pines also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program, operating 3 days per week.
Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, an area boasting over 4800 kilometers of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves a surrounding area of approximately 13,000 residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With two of the six local First Nations communities located within municipal boundaries, Burns Lake has a strong sense of culture and incredible local talents to showcase. Housing in Burns Lake is very affordable, including lakefront property! There are two K-7 schools, a K-9, a 8-12 and a 10-12 public school within the Lakes District Area. Additionally, there are two Independent Mennonite schools and one College of New Caledonia campus within the community. It is centrally located between Smithers (1.5 hrs) and Prince George (2.5 hours) for ease of access to airports VIA Rail serves Burns Lake year round and stops right in the centre of Burns Lake’s downtown core. QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience and registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
