The Division of Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care is the largest division within Flinders Medical Centre. The specialty areas we cover are: general medicine, renal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiac, dermatology, neurology, stroke, infectious diseases, rheumatology, haematology, and oncology. As well as having ward-based teams, we also have a robust casual nursing pool. We pride ourselves in providing highly competent and professional nursing staff who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional care to patients. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager this role is responsible for patients in division of Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care.
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide direct person centred nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients on a shift by shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time.
- Contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse makes decisions and takes initiative to plan and complete nursing care tasks within their scope of practice
