Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical/counselling psychologist with passion and enthusiasm in working with adults who have experienced sexual trauma to join the Havens (London’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre) therapies team. This is a permanent post.
The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic and dynamic therapies team and will also work with the Havens multidisciplinary team. You will work alongside psychologists, counsellors/ psychotherapists and the Havens multidisciplinary team. As a senior member of the Havens therapies team, you will lead on and help contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive psychological service and ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist therapeutic service to adults who have experienced sexual assault and/or rape alongside external statutory and non-statutory agencies. You will lead on and contribute to teaching, training, audit, research, service development and review of relevant service policies and guidelines.
The Havens is the London’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) and we are a longstanding partnership initiative between the Mayors’ Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and NHS England to improve the care offered to victims of sexual assault and rape. The service is provided by King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Havens provide comprehensive forensic, medical, advocacy and psychological therapy aftercare services to complainants of serious sexual assault.
- The post holder will provide clear leadership and stability to the team to ensure a high quality service. You will have a high degree of professional autonomy, enthusiasm, self-management, possessing strong communication and clinical skills. The successful candidate will be required to account for their professional practice through service reporting, appraisal, research and audit of the service.
- To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist therapeutic and assessment service to clients who have experienced sexual assault and/or rape across all sectors of care and alongside external statutory and non-statutory agencies, as part of an MDT.
- To help develop the Havens therapies service and ensure the development of strong inter-agency relationships is established.
- The successful candidate will have experience in a comprehensive range of psychological therapies, risk assessment, consultation and training. You will need the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- To work as an autonomous professional within Health Professions Council (HCPC), BPS and/or BABCP guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, taking full responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions.
- To be responsible for the management and clinical supervision of qualified clinical psychologists and/or trainee/assistant psychologists, as required.
