Description:
Join our family at Waitakere Maternity Team and embark on a journey of bringing new life into the world while nurturing your career.
We’re seeking Registered Midwives to become integral members of our team at Waitakere Maternity, ideally with a minimum of two years’ experience.
Nestled near the picturesque Waitakere ranges and the stunning west Auckland beaches, Waitakere Hospital offers primary maternity and secondary obstetric services to the West Auckland community.
In the past year alone, our dedicated team facilitated over 3,000 births. We cater to women from 32 weeks gestation and operate a 12-bed SCBU. With a caesarean section rate of approximately 24%, our ward maintains strong collaborations with LMCs, providing opportunities for our successful candidates to actively participate in a higher number of deliveries.
Our unit is midwifery-led, comprising solely of midwives and consultants—no registrars. This means that antenatal, postnatal, and birthing services are all housed within one ward, offering you a holistic experience across the spectrum of midwifery care.
At Waitemata District, we offer continuous support and guidance through our Midwife Educator, ensuring a nurturing environment and enabling you to uphold your registration and practice in alignment with national guidelines standards. Join us and be part of something truly rewarding.
