ABOUT THE OTTAWA HOSPITAL

Inspired by research and driven by compassion!
The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) is one of Canada’s largest learning and research multi-campus hospitals. With more than 1,100 beds and approximately 12,000 staff members, we deliver specialized care to the Eastern Ontario region.
From the compassion of our people to the relentless pursuit of new discoveries, The Ottawa Hospital never stops seeking solutions to the most complex health-care challenges while continually engaging with the community to support our vision for better patient care.
Working together with its research institute, the University of Ottawa, and other partners, the hospital is continually gaining national and international recognition for high-quality patient care, teaching and research, while striving to meet the needs of the culturally diverse community we serve.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Welcome to 6 North West! Our Chest Disease unit is a 36 bed surgical inpatient unit that provides care for a wide variety of patients such as Thoracics, ENT, Respirology and off service surgery patients. Nurses who join our team quickly learn the importance of being part of a collaborative team. Together, we provide excellent care for patients and families in crisis who in turn express genuine appreciation and gratitude to our team. Nurses on our units become experts in airways, tube feeds, and chest tubes , just to name a few of our specialized skills. These competencies help form a solid foundation which can then help you branch out into other areas. Many nurses who join our team choose to stay and be a part of this team for many years. Others leverage their experience on 6NW and move into other areas of the organization such as Critical Care and Peri-Operative areas, just to name a few. If you are interested in joining a supportive team and dynamic work environment, apply now!
