Description:
SUMMARY:
The U.S. Embassy in Helsinki is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Registered Nurse.
The work schedule for this position is full time, 40 hours per week.
Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (four weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of post-qualification work as a professional nurse is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory:
Degree (Registered Nurse Level) in Nursing or Diploma/Certificate equivalent from an accredited School of Nursing.
Must possess and maintain a valid nursing license or a current unrestricted Registered Nursing license from the host nation, country of origin, or the U.S.

Responsibilities:
The incumbent serves as the Embassy’s nurse with responsibilities that include:
- Medical care of mainly with Mission Foreign Service Personnel and their eligible family members.
- Maintenance and inventory of all medical equipment and supplies.
- Implementation of a robust vaccination program, including travel and childhood vaccinations.
- Administration of group and individual health education programs.
- Medical emergency contingency planning for the Mission.
The incumbent is taking after hours call on a rotating basis with the other registered nurse.
The incumbent will work in the Medical Unit with another nurse under the clinical supervision of the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) or Medical Provider (MP) located outside of the Post.
