ABOUT YOU

An accomplished Cath Lab Nurse you are excited to join our Cath Lab Team at Australia’s only dedicated heart hospital. Naturally curious, you have a thirst for learning and are seeking to further mastering your cardiac and anaesthetic skills. By joining our cardiac hospital, you will thrive working in a dynamic, bigger, new space with more Labs and proud of providing specialist cardiac care.
Working closely within a multidisciplinary Cath Lab team, you bring the following skills, experience, and knowledge:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Ability and flexibility to participate in and perform services during over-time and emergency recall
  • Ability to travel in under 30mins for on call services
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence and vehicle are essential (A travelling allowance is payable at the current rate per kilometre for on call services)
  • Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to work in Australia
  • Naturally curious and seeking to master your cardiac care expertise
  • Availability to work across a mixture of 8 and 10 hour shift depending on organisational operational requirements.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Scrub/scout/recovery experience
  • Complex and/or basic Interventional Cardiology procedural skills such as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (elective and/or Emergency), Structural Heart including TAVI, PFO/ASD, Mitral Valve and Atrial Appendage Occlusion procedures.
  • Cardiac Rhythm Management procedural and recovery skills including Electro-Physiology, Permanent Pacemaker/Defibrillator Implantation, Temporary Pacing
  • Invasive monitoring including recognition of arterial and right heart pressures/waveforms, and Balloon Pump management
  • Experience with femoral/radial/brachial artery and/or venous sheath management pre/peri/post removal.
  • Experienced background in Cardiac nursing and/or Critical care, Advanced Life Support
  • Anaesthesia and airway management
  • Other pre/peri/post procedural experience I.e., theatre scrub/scout or similar
  • Postgraduate Certificate or higher in Critical Care Nursing (Emergency, Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Interventional Cardiology) or working towards
