Registered Nurse, CDFEP (1st Episode)

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
• B.Sc. N;
• Two (2) years recent psychiatric nursing experience;
• Non-violent crisis Intervention course;
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate;
• Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the principles of psychiatric nursing as it apply to patient suffering first episode psychosis break;
• Demonstrates willingness to cooperate with and support ongoing research projects in the Program;
• Demonstrates excellent communication/interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrates the ability to participate in patient / family teaching;
• Experience in facilitating/co-facilitating patient groups;
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team in a case management model;
• Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the Quality Assurance Program and participates in program projects;
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• C.N.A. psychiatric nursing certification;
• Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
