Description:

JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (2 positions)
PROGRAM AREA: Harm Reduction Team – Focus: Permanent Supportive Housing
REPORTS TO: Harm Reduction Manager
HOURS PER WEEK: 28 to 35

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Baccalaureate in Nursing
  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Competence
  • Two to five years broad-based practical nursing experience in a combination of hospital and community settings and/or public health. Experience working in community settings independently is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience working within a social determinants of health approach, including understanding harm reduction philosophies and practices
  • Experience working with clients who experience mental health concerns, use substances, complex chronic diseases, and language barriers,
  • Experience and comfort working with equity deserving populations
  • Experience working with Interpreters is an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to health equity and the CHC model of care
  • High level of computer proficiency including the use of electronic medical records and understanding of documentation best practices. Experience using Practice Suite Solutions (PSS) is an asset.
