The department cares for trauma including burns and acute spines, neurosurgical emergencies, neurology patients, major orthopaedic, cardiology and cardiothoracic, oncology and paediatrics. RNSH ED was awarded the 2021 College of Emergency Nursing Australasian (CENA) – Australasian Emergency Department of the Year.
