Description:

Are you a Registered Nurse looking to work in a large NHS Organisation? The Acute Gastroenterology Unit at GUH is recruiting Registered Nurses who are motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable with a passion for providing high quality patient care. We care for our patients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and can consider a number of working patterns to support work life balance of our staff. A degree of flexibility would be required to meet the needs of the service. Ward A4 at GUH is a specialised 30 bedded unit caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic Gastro conditions.
The Gwent Liver Unit is a well-established service at ABUHB. The team work closely together to offer patients seamless care from inpatient services on ward A4, into outpatient and ambulatory care services across the ABUHB catchment area. The service has recently achieved full accreditation as a liver service in the Improving Quality in Liver Services (IQILS) initiative which is supported by the Royal College of Physicians and the British Association in the Study of Liver Disease (BASL). The accreditation involved onsite assessment of all aspects of the liver service including our liver ward to ensure the standards of care are in keeping with nationally recommended standards. We are proud to say that we are the only centre in Wales with accreditation and only the 7 th in the UK.

The range of assigned tasks will be carried out with the highest standard and in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct to support and enable registered nursing staff to provide patient care, which reflects the quality standards and mission of the Health Board.
Support the delivery of a comprehensive nursing service including Palliative Care. To contribute to the provision of health care to the people of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board catchment area by assessing, planning and implementing care for a defined group of patients. To provide advice and record details of all necessary interactions. To ensure safe clinically effective care and nursing procedures are carried out and to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to other staff members and pre-registration students.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of basic nursing services to the population. Supervised and supported by the multi-disciplinary team within the ward. They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.
The role will involve flexible working and travelling as appropriate to the needs of the service in consultation with the post holder and in accordance with Local Service Agreements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
