Gynaecology outpatients is a dynamic specialist unit providing specialist care to a range of gynaecological conditions.
Within our team we have Specialist teams include Advanced-Nurse led Early Pregnancy Clinic, Nurse led Colposcopy, Fertility care, Endometriosis and Urogynaecology.
Our outpatient’s service is rapidly expanding and has recently been appointed as a mesh removal centre with ambitions to continue to expand our services to support our patients.
We are proud to be able to offer our patients a full outpatient and inpatient gynaecology service with special emphasis on one stop outpatient services, and tertiary skills in sub-fertility, urogynaecology, endometriosis and minimal access surgery.
We are keen to support our nurses to develop their skills across the specialty. Central to the culture of our team is the belief we have to invest in developing our team to develop and retain a truly outstanding workforce.
We currently have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team part time (08.00 - 17.30). This role will assist with running clinics, including assisting with Coloscopy, Hysteroscopy and other Gynaecological procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF:

The Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
Clinical Governance and Clinical Supervision.
Professional accountabilities and responsibilities.
Health and Safety legislation applicable to the clinical setting.
Good resource management.
The role of the nurse as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
The care planning process from pre-admission to post discharge.

EXPERIENCE:

Postgraduate experience within a relevant clinical area/ speciality, of which at least nine months must be recent/ current.

Responsibilities:

Participating in assessment, planning and delivery of direct patient care within the Cotswold’s Outpatients department.
Working in collaboration with the nurse in charge and Clinical Matron to ensure the delivery of high calibre of evidence-based patient care, and to encourage and develop a flexible workforce through the efficient use of facilities, manpower and other resources.
Ensuring all clinical care requirements of patients are communicated effectively at ward handover to allow seamless provision of care from shift to shift.
Undertaking technical treatments, procedures, investigations and complex additional nursing procedures. Assisting in clinical procedures such as Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy.
Supporting the nursing team including junior colleagues, providing teaching, guidance and mentoring.
Coordinating clinics and procedure schedules to support the efficient running of the service.
Ensuring that care needs are assessed, and programmes of care are developed, implemented and evaluated for a patient caseload. Ensuring care is documented accurately at every stage of the process, giving a clear profile of care from admission to discharge

Qualifications
Registered General Nurse.
Teaching and assessing qualification or commitment to undertaking relevant course.
Additional clinical skills relevant to the clinical area.
