Job Title: Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery/Postpartum RN
Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery/Postpartum RN to join our healthcare team. As an integral member of our labor and delivery unit, you will provide essential care to pregnant women, assist in the birthing process, and provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns. Your role will involve performing assessments, monitoring the progress of labor, providing pain management, delivering newborn care, and offering education and support to new mothers. By utilizing your expertise and nurturing nature, you will contribute to creating a positive birthing experience and ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive care to pregnant women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period
  • Conduct initial assessments, including maternal and fetal well-being, and develop care plans accordingly
  • Monitor labor progression, fetal heart rate, and vital signs of both the mother and baby
  • Administer medications, epidurals, and pain management techniques as needed
  • Assist in performing deliveries, providing guidance and support to the mother throughout the process
  • Conduct postpartum assessments, including monitoring vital signs, assessing the newborn, and evaluating the mother’s physical and emotional well-being
  • Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding techniques, and postpartum recovery
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and effective care for patients
  • Document patient information, treatments provided, and responses to interventions accurately and promptly
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients and their families

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum [x] years of experience as a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum RN preferred
  • Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Knowledge of current best practices and evidence-based care in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate, patient-oriented, and able to handle stressful situations with calmness and empathy
