Description:

The Lives Lived Well Coffs Harbour Youth Residential Rehabilitation Centre is a 24-hour residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation service for young people aged 13-18 years, who are involved with YJNSW and need support to address substance misuse and needs that relate to their offending. The service offers a calm and welcoming environment to young people and provides a holistic rehabilitation program.
We have an eight-bed capacity, including a room set aside for safe withdrawal. The 12-week program assists young people to make positive changes in their lives, including reducing AOD use, improving social and emotional wellbeing, and increasing life skills.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

The service is managed by a multidisciplinary team including GPs, Nurses, AOD Counsellors and Support Workers and we are currently looking for a Registered Nurse to join the team. This is a permanent part-time role working 19 hours per week, with significant flexibility around days and hours. It may suit a parent returning to work, and someone who is currently studying additional qualifications, and offers genuine work/life balance.
Our nursing staff are the primary providers of withdrawal support to young people in the program. In addition to conducting initial assessments, you will monitor and assess their progress, provide supportive care, administer medication and supervise self-administration of medication, and provide routine nursing care.
The role pays $51.00 - $54.00 per hour and you will be eligible Salary Packaging up to $15,900 per year, plus an additional $2,650 in Entertainment and Accommodation benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical assessments and effective nursing interventions including GP referrals and coordinating hospital admissions as required
  • Providing intake support and transition of young people into the Residential serviceMedication management including documentation and governanc
