As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse Psychiatric / Mental Health based in Plettenberg bay, Garden Route, South Africa. The Registered Nurse is to join a team at a highly specialized addiction center dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders and mental health issues. The incumbent must be willing to fit into the earning culture and be willing to share new ideas or techniques. The center is all about patient centered care and the incumbent must have a passion for helping people and thinking out of the box.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  Relevant qualification as Registered Nurse with psychiatric
• 
  Valid SANC registration
• 
  Previous experience in private sector, working within a hospital setting
• 
  Experience with in-patient settings
• 
  Previous experience with substance abuse and eating disorders a must
• 
  Previous experience in psychiatric setting/wards a must
• 
  High command of English
• 
  Must be able to work well within the current team of nurses and specialists as well as be able to work independently.

• 
  Responsible for all medical requirements of the patients, including medication (dispensing/ordering).
• 
  Ensure patients get to group and counselling sessions
• 
  Assist in sessions and outings
• 
  Report writing and notes on an IT system.
• 
  Rounds at night and managing 2 to 3 carers on shift
• 
  Responsible for all during the shift.
