BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Three (3) months recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and/or in a Special Care Nursery;
- Three (3) months recent ventilator experience;
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the nursing process;
- Demonstrates a desire and ability to participate in patient teaching;
- Demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to patients, to the public and to colleagues;
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team;
- Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities;
- Demonstrates understanding of and participation in the evaluation process;
- Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the nursing audit;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in nursing;
- Neonatal High Risk course;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
