Description:

To provide general nursing care and leadership, working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. Will promote and restore patient’s health as they plan, provide, delegate, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background; provide physical and psycho-social support to patients and their families/friends.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. (3 years GNM with DHA RN License is acceptable)

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Operation Theatre

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Innovative with strong service focused approach, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Must possess skills to maintain proper therapeutic relationship.
  • Confident and competent to attend all the cases.
  • Ability to create a welcoming atmosphere and put people at ease.
  • Ability to encourage patients to develop good preventative care habits.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and determine effective treatments.
  • Computer literacy

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in English & Arabic (preferable)

6. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid DHA License as Registered Nurse
  • Life Support Certification (BLS/ACLS)

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates current trends in nursing and utilizes research based practices.
  • Identifies health education needs of patient/family and develops health education methods.
  • Participate in ongoing in-service training includes mandatory competency tested health, safety and infection control programs.
  • Always demonstrates professional accountability and responsibility.
  • Complies with the Nursing Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for CS, Emirates Nursing Association (Emirates Nursing Council), and applicable health authority.
  • Works within the established Scope of Practice for registered Nurses.
  • Maintains own staff development folder to record all educational activities and professional growth related to evidenced based practice and critical incidents.
  • Maintain registration with Nursing licensing board and applicable health authority.
  • Maintains current knowledge in Clinical Practice.
  • Participates in annual performance review and identifies professional and personal goals to be achieved during the following 12 month including completion of the staff development portfolio.
  • Care for self and for their colleague’s health, safety and well-being, awareness and contribution to healthy and safe occupational environment
