BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Certificate of Competence, College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Three (3) months of recent Psychiatry experience in an acute care setting;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention techniques;
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing ;
  • Ability to develop, co-ordinate and deliver in-services, presentations;
  • Ability to make effective referrals, reflecting in depth knowledge of community resources and strong collaborative skills in working with other TOH departments, police officers and other community partners;
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, prioritize, organize, implement, evaluate and problem-solve;
  • Proven ability to exercise mature, effective judgement and behaviour in emergency situation and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team;
  • Proven ability to be organized and thorough in information gathering and documentation practices and proficiency in the use of personal computers;
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
