• Schedule: Full-time Nights, Twelve Hour Shifts, 6p.m. to 6a.m.

  Ascension St. Vincent’s Blount Med Surg is a private 24-bed Medical Surgical unit. It is common to have a wide variety of patient populations with multiple co-morbidities ranging from respiratory, cardiac, sepsis as well as fresh post op patients. We also have 10 Rehab beds, included in those 24 beds, where a patient may receive Therapy, Long Term IV antibiotic or Wound Care, and can stay up to 21 days at a time.

REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
