JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated nurse to join our team in providing care and support to people living with dementia. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine interest and passion for dementia care, along with a strong drive to improve the quality of life for our residents.
As a key member of our team, you will demonstrate empathy, patience, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nursing Qualifications (Essential)
  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Essential)
  • Minimum of 2years of experience in nursing, preferably in a dementia care setting.
  • Evidence of further professional development, such as advanced certifications or specialized training in dementia care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to people living with dementia, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
  • Working collaboratively with fellow healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their dementia journey.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance the quality of care and promote best practices in dementia management.
  • Serve as an advocate for residents, ensuring their voices are heard and their preferences are respected in all aspects of care delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training initiatives to stay abreast of advancements in dementia care and nursing practice.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of dementia-friendly initiatives within the organization and the community.
  • Exceptional empathy and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents and their families on a personal level.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on person-centred care.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges and opportunities in dementia care.
  • The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the nursing home.
  • The successful candidate will provide holistic, person-centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
