About Us
The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the Role

  • As a Registrar of the Magistrates’ Court ensure the appropriate performance of all legal, administrative and quasi-judicial functions relating to day to day operations of the Court registry, under limited supervision.
  • Manage the listing functions for the sexual offences list by monitoring and assessing case workloads, overseeing the listing practices and procedures and resolving service delivery problems consistent with program objectives.
  • Direct and supervise staff and recommend resource allocation to management to meet service delivery priorities in matters relating to the sex offences listing.

About You
You will have demonstrated knowledge and expertise of Victorian Courts and Tribunals with extensive knowledge of legislation, practices, policies and procedures applicable to Victorian Courts and Tribunals.
The successful applicant will have the capability to effectively influence clients and other stakeholders and apply their experience and knowledge of work processes and practices to resolve complex issues taking into consideration critical client needs and expectations and apply appropriate expertise and responses to meet these.
Must be able to manage and motivate operational teams and use your skills to help develop trainees rotating through the Sex Offences team.
