The role of a Rehabilitation Consultant is to apply and provide a biopsychosocial approach to rehabilitation services considering biomedical, psychological and social factors that influence recovery and successful civilian employment outcomes for injured veterans. In this role your responsibilities will include;

• Engaging all relevant parties in the development and implementation of an individual and tailored rehabilitation plan to address medical, vocational and social needs
• Actively monitoring the rehabilitation plan and regularly engage with all parties to address barriers as they arise and ensure the goals are achieved
• Work with the Veteran Employment Consultant to source work placements/experience/trials, volunteering roles and/or employment opportunities, investigate retraining and recognised prior learning options
• Be an expert on veteran related services that can be offered through DVA SPECIFIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY TASKS (if qualified)
• Promptly undertake Activities of Daily Living, Workplace and Ergonomic Assessments as referred by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs
• Attendance and participation in OT Forums.
