Job description
The RTE facilitates Agile practices and execution. They escalate impediments, manage risk, and help ensure value delivery and relentless improvement. RTEs will support Agile practices, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Master/Team Coaches in the mindset and processes. They also help adapt Agile to the organization’s needs, standardizing and documenting practices.
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.
This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitating Agile Release Train (ART) events: The RTE facilitates key ceremonies such as Program Increment (PI) planning, Scrum of Scrums, and Inspect and Adapt sessions to ensure effective communication and coordination among teams.
  • Ensuring alignment and collaboration: The RTE works closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and the overall delivery roadmap.
  • Managing and resolving impediments: The RTE identifies and helps remove any obstacles or impediments that may hinder the progress of the ART, enabling teams to deliver value consistently.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress: The RTE tracks and reports on the progress of the ART, providing transparency to stakeholders and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coaching and supporting teams: The RTE provides guidance and support to Agile teams, helping them embrace Agile principles, practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Promoting continuous improvement: The RTE fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the ART, encouraging experimentation, learning, and adaptation to enhance delivery effectiveness.
  • Supporting organizational change: The RTE collaborates with leaders and teams to drive Agile transformations, supporting the adoption of Agile practices and mindset across the organization.

Skills, knowledge, and experience
Essential Criteria
1. SAFe SPC or RTE certification
2. Expertise in Agile methods and approaches
3. Education to degree standard and/or equivalent qualifications/experience
4. Presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently *
5. Experience of managing, inspiring, engaging and motivating a team and colleagues to achieve excellent results
6. Ability to facilitate identification and management of priorities
7. Create an environment of mutual influence, encouraging the personal development of each individual and the development of teams
Desirable Criteria
1. Scrum Master certification
2. Expertise in SAFe methods and approaches
3. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tool and implementation of best practices in Agile tools and workflows
4. Experience of managing projects
