RELIABILITY CONSULTANT III

Applied Technical Services, Inc. (ATS) is a growing consulting engineering, testing and inspection company seeking a Reliability Consultant III based remotely. Ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years experience in engineering and ideally in reliability related work with experience as an instructor. This is a heavy travel position with travel on Monday and Friday and scheduled 3 day training sessions at client locations Tuesday through Thursday every other week.

DESCRIPTION:

The Reliability Consultant/Instructor will work with our Reliability Engineering Department to provide reliability training and services for our clients. The position will report to the Reliability Engineering Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Strong working knowledge of rotating machinery and root cause analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, ultrasonics, infrared thermography, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong instructor skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer skills – Excel, Word documents using multimedia materials, File & Directory management, Computer Aided Design Software
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a growing environment
  • Travel required (50% -75% estimated)

Responsibilities:

The Reliability Consultant/Instructor will be responsible for delivering all facets of our reliability training and services to our clients. Some of the responsibilities are as follows:

  • Coordinate and Instruct ATS’s 3-day Practical Plant Failure Analysis (PPFA) course.
  • The PPFA course provides reliability engineers, plant engineers, maintenance mechanics, technicians, and supervisors the knowledge and skills required to understand and eliminate failures The course offers extensive hands-on experience to give students the opportunity to evaluate the actual broken components.
  • Courses are conducted at ATS’s customer facilities and at our Marietta, GA location.
  • Coordinate and Instruct ATS’s 3-day Machinery Monitoring & Diagnostics (MMAD) course.
  • The MMAD course provides the knowledge and skills required to accurately identify, prioritize, and correct the most common causes of machinery failure.
  • Conduct in depth field investigations to assess the conditions leading to failure of rotating equipment using industrial best engineering practices and Predictive Maintenance methods.
  • Assist with developing and accessing Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance programs.
  • Assist with developing technical reports.
  • Develop new reliability training modules to offer our clients.
  • Identify client requirements by establishing relationships with potential clients.
  • Prepare proposals based on discussions with clients, reviewing customer documents, and consulting with Engineering Managers.
  • Gain client proposal acceptance by communicating cost and operational benefits associated with using our services.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and certifications.
