Position Purpose: The Reliability Engineer II reports to the Principal Product Line Mission Assurance Manager and works in concert with program management team members.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $135,000
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- 2+ years of experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, etc.).
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Direct experience performing at least one reliability analysis; parts stress analysis, failure mode and effects, worse case circuit analysis, signal integrity, mean time between failure, probability of success, is required.
- Ability to read electrical schematics is required.
- General knowledge of electrical circuits and EEE parts is required.
- Knowledge of space and/or military requirements documents for reliability such as EEE-INST-002, TORs, etc. is preferred.
- Experience in SPICE analysis tools, with specific experience in P-SPICE and LT-SPICE is preferred.
- Experience in circuit analysis of digital and analog circuits is preferred.
- General knowledge of EEE part failure modes is recommended.
- Experience in statistical analysis and or statics theory is recommended.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. Responsibilities:
- Performs reliability analyses as needed to support program deliverables and analysis such as; parts stress analysis (PSA), failure mode and effects (FMEA), worse case circuit analysis (WCCA), mean time between failure (MTBF), probability of success (Ps).
- Participate in analysis effort to generate MTBF and Parts Stress Analyzes leveraging industry documents such as EEE-INST-001.
- Work in coordination with the EEE parts Engineer and Radiation Effects Engineer to understand overall probability of success based on mission environments.
- Communicate hardware reliability risks to the Mission Assurance Manager and Program Manager.
- Develop and maintain risk reduction test methods of flight hardware.
- Participate in Material Review Board and Failure Review Board activities as required.
- Works under general direction of project engineers or section head, or under general administrative instruction in performing detailed reliability studies and calculations of component/system reliabilities.
- Considers impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting reliability problems on installed equipment; performs root cause failure analysis to help prevent failures.
- Plans and performs engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering assignments, including responsibility for major subsections of complex projects using general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reliability principles.
- Estimates engineering personnel needs and coordinates and supervises the use of other engineers and technicians to accomplish the objective of cost-effective reliability improvements for projects.
- Performs other work as assigned.
