THE SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:
The ideal candidate requires a mechanical engineering (or similar) degree with 5 to 10 years of lubrication/hydraulics experience, or 10 to 15 years of combined maintenance and engineering experience in the fields of rotating equipment reliability, lubrication and hydraulics. A significant level of experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry is desired. Knowledge of process equipment design, construction and operation is important. A thorough knowledge of various types of mechanical power transmission components, bearings and lubricants is essential. In addition, the candidate must have leadership skills and abilities which enable him/her to motivate and influence both exempt and non-exempt team members with widely varying knowledge and experience levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus the demonstrated ability to interact with team members at all levels of the organization are also musts. Expertise in reliability systems, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Predictive Maintenance techniques, Computerized Maintenance Management System usage, and process knowledge are plusses. Certification by nationally recognized groups in areas such as Lubrication Technology, Maintenance and Reliability management, etc. should already be possessed by the candidate or achievable within a reasonable period of time.
Organizational Relationship: This position is part of the IP Global Manufacturing Technology Reliability Center of Excellence, which is led by the COE Director of Reliability who reports to the Vice-President of Global Technology. This position will report to the Manager of the Materials, Mechanical and Facilities Reliability Team within the Reliability COE.
Comments: This role requires 50% travel, both domestic and international, and a willingness to provide assistance 24/7 to manufacturing facilities.
