The role
The Remote Operations Centre Surveyor will be responsible for performing marine survey activities from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), providing survey support to all operations within the region, utilising innovative and industry leading technology and protocols.
Who we’re looking for:
Fugro’s Remote Operations Centres provides centralized command centres throughout the world with direct access to offshore survey projects. The system allows for optimization of survey crew size, client engagement and access to Fugro’s subject matter experts around the world.
Reporting directly to the Remote Operations Centre Manager the ROC Surveyor will liaise with the ROC Superintendent and work with ROC staff, Offshore staff, Project Managers, Clients, Project Teams and third-party suppliers to oversee effective and efficient completion of project work scopes. Additionally, they will be expected to collaborate with other Remote Operations Centres, Innovation teams and key suppliers globally.

The ROC Surveyor will actively support the continuous improvement of remote operations, identifying opportunities, developing business justifications, testing, and creating documentation to be incorporated into the body of knowledge.

  • Supports the setup, interfacing, testing, calibration, and operation of the full suite of survey sensors.
  • Ensures operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with project terms and conditions.
  • Remotely operates online survey software and monitors the data quality to ensure required specification is achieved and taking immediate corrective action when required.
  • Receives calls and makes outbound calls to remote project locations and provides confident, clear, and concise information.
  • Maintains effective and appropriate communication with client representatives, Project Manager, and other onshore and offshore departments e.g., Data Services, Subject Matter Experts, Innovation, Staff Development Coordinators, Human Resources, IT, and QHSSE.
  • Collects collates and presents results from various survey sensors.
  • Develops and maintains clear and concise documentation for all survey-related activities.
  • Prepares and ensures quality control of survey logs.
  • Maintains current and accurate vessel information and comprehensive handover notes.
  • Conducts reporting and processing as required.
