Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Research and Innovation, Christie Patient Centred Research (CPCR) at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Applications are invited for a Research Administrative Assistant role to help with the day to day activities of the Senior Research Fellow and CPCR team. CPCR conducts research to improve the outcomes and experiences of patients affected by cancer and their families.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the CPCR team to assist with administrative tasks and project related activities including data collection, data management, recruitment, document preparation, minute taking and general administrative duties. Responsibilities will also include the promotion of CPCR activities and the organisation of our educational events.
An understanding of project work and evidence of high quality delivery to deadlines are essential. Ability to use data management programmes such as Excel desirable.
We are looking for an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills; who can work well both in a team and using their own initiative.
The post holder will support the Senior Research Fellow and Christie Patient Centred Research (CPCR) team in carrying out administrative tasks and assisting researchers in their study activities.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Organisational
Supporting day-to-day activities of the Senior Research Fellow
Oversee the organisation of CPCR education meetings & events (including room booking and catering).
Monitor registration rates for the programme of events and measure that the targets are being met, report to the team and suggest necessary action.
Supporting document preparation and writing
Ensure that general office supply levels are ordered and monitored.
Photocopying and word processing documents, letters, emails and reports when required.
Raise purchase order requisitions, invoice external organisations, process personal payments, ensuring that processes comply with the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions.
Update content and oversee the maintenance of the CPCR website.
Oversee communication and scheduling of events for the Christie Clinical Academic Forum (CCAF).
Communication
Actively participate in committees and meetings as required.
Take accurate minutes of CPCR and other associated research meetings and disseminate them to attendees.
Promote the work conducted by CPCR at research and educational events.
Oversee and carry out the marketing, production of posters, flyers, agendas, to promote CPCR activities.
Dealing with routine enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to stakeholders, referring to others as appropriate.
Disseminate research opportunities to Christie members of staff.
Project Facilitation
Facilitate Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) activities for project development and ongoing PPI input.
Assist data collection and entry on research studies as required.
Maintain and review accurate records for activity delivered by the team ensuring it is clear, coherent and consistent.
Report research recruitment figures to relevant stakeholders.
Assist in data entry and data analysis using specialist software.
Contribute to the design of posters or other relevant materials which disseminate the findings of research studies.
