ABOUT YOU

You will be the first point of contact in responding to general enquires from students, staff, collaborators and research participants. You will communicate, interpretate and apply University and external regulations and procedures. Whilst providing administrative support for research related activities and projects. You should have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and a willingness to resolve situations that may arise. With the ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines.
You will make administration arrangements for meetings, and training events such as room bookings, travel arrangements for staff. You should have experience of using a database and the ability to use standard computer programmes. You should have previous experience of working effectively as part of an office team.
You should hold a formal qualification for example BTEC ND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and or significant work experience at a similar level.

Responsibilities:

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and those important to them facing the problems associated with progressive life limiting illness, through early identification and impeccable assessment, and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual. Our multidisciplinary clinical specialist palliative care service is based within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and provides care and support for people across all settings - in the community, in hospital and in our 2 hospices, Sobell House in Churchill Hospital and Katharine House in Banbury.
We wish to appoint a part time Research Administrative Assistant who will take general responsibility for the administrative support for research activity within the palliative care department, including recruitment, finance and administration.
Reporting to Prof Bee Wee CBE, as research lead, they will have the opportunity to work closely with our Clinical Quality and Research Group with its panel of mentors and buddies, our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement group and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across the NHS and University.
The post is Part time (18.25 hours per week) and fixed term for 12 months.
