POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Analyst to assist with a study focused on the pathways into and out of hidden homelessness among 2SLGBTQ+ youth and young adults across three cities. The Research Analyst will assist with research responsibilities including obtaining and maintaining informed consent, administering study questionnaires and interviews, qualitative data analysis, and supporting Knowledge Translation activities, such as developing materials for communicating research results (e.g., policy briefs, research reports, infographics, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications), and will ensure that the research is performed according to the approved protocols. Other duties include administrative tasks related to youth engagement activities.
The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable health and safety and regulatory and legislative requirements. This 12-month contract position is located at 33 Ursula Franklin Street, Toronto, Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have completed a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field combined with one year of relevant research and/or clinical experience. Strong familiarity with 2SLGBTQ+ terminology is required. Previous experience collecting and analyzing qualitative data is required. Previous experience working with 2SLGBTQ+ populations, individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges and/or addictions is an asset.
This position requires very strong interpersonal skills, combined with well-developed critical thinking abilities, flexibility, and initiative. The successful candidate is a self-driven, highly detail-oriented, and proactive worker with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. This position requires a candidate who is willing to learn and adapt to different work assignments in a team setting, as well as work independently with minimal direct supervision. The successful candidate will support and implement anti-oppressive and anti-racist best practices in the workplace, with the ability to work with stakeholders of diverse identities and ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds.
