Overview:
Gallagher Specialty is currently seeking a Research Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across six different business areas, conducting research, analyzing data, and compiling information on the insurance market. You will collaborate with various teams to develop strategies and predictions for market changes in the next 0 - 3 years. Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyse and collate information and intelligence on the insurance market including; analysis on environmental, social, political and financial risks that can affect insurance buying habits and/or future market fluctuations.
  • Research must include local/industry press, Lloyd’s data, third party research platforms, insurer and broker feedback on market fluctuations and regulatory/governmental changes.
  • Use information gained to predict and prepare teams by developing a proposition on how best to react to market changes in the next 0 - 3 years.
  • Be on the front foot and proactive in spotting opportunities, by being aware of key insurance industry topics, themes and trends, which would link to our own strategies for new business and work with the team to calculate income opportunities.
  • Responsible for comparing data with market reports and Gallagher data by identifying gaps to explore. Evaluation how Gallagher is operating in each industry/ territory.
  • Work closely with the market management team to understand how insurer appetite aligns with market trends and how Gallagher is operating.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sales strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Manage external relationships with third party research houses or data platforms.
  • Develop and maintain business risk/insurance/market/legal/regulatory and other technical knowledge.
  • Ensure necessary business, compliance, data and legal standards and sign-offs are understood and adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ financial services experience
  • Insurance knowledge across multiple product classes and specialisms is desirable.
  • Strategy, planning, sales and execution skills
  • Proficiency in using research tools, databases, and software for data analysis.
  • Experienced in using advanced data analysis tools and techniques to extract insights from complex datasetsMS office and Salesforce proficiency including excellent excel skills.
