BOSTON GOVERNMENT SERVICES (BGS) IS SEEKING A RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY SUPPORT TECHNOLOGIST TO SUPPORT OUR CLIENT IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO.

WHAT YOUR JOB WILL BE LIKE:

We are seeking a Research and Development Laboratory Support Technologist to join a diverse team that helps tackle some of the most challenging issues facing our nation’s security! Our team conducts maintenance and operations of the Z-Machine facility and carries the overall responsibility of delivering high quality pulsed power to experiments in the center of the machine. You’ll be supporting the Z Pulsed Power Facility Energy Storage Section (ESS) and the Pulse Forming Section (PFS).

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Clean and rebuild components for pulsed power systems.
  • Troubleshoot existing components for faults.
  • Develop new processes to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Maintenance and repair of pulsed power systems within oil/water tank.
  • Maintain and operate pulsed power component testers.
  • Work within a beryllium contaminated area.
  • Use safe practices for all processes.
  • Represent the ESS/PFS team during Z shot processes.
  • Reach out across the division to support and build relationships.
  • Assisting with Laser Trigger System (LTS) in ESS tank.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma and 2-5 years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical systems.
  • Experience with mechanical tools (wrenches, pliers, torque wrench, calipers, screwdrivers)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.

  • A desire to serve the nation in this advanced research project and the overall mission of the National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM.
  • Ability to model behaviors that reflect the National Laboratories’ core values.
