We are looking for Public Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or Commerce students currently enrolled in a co-op or equivalent work experience degree program, available for 8 month terms starting September 2024.
Only students in work experience programs are eligible.

We are looking for self-motivated and team-oriented students to assist with various projects and initiatives. Get hands-on experience in different aspects of business development and policy research as a contributing member of the team. Teams you may work in are:
- Safe Mobility (Research and Policy Student) - Help support the implementation of the Safe Mobility Strategy, the City of Edmonton’s innovative approach to achieving Vision Zero, the goal to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries on our roads. Work with the Planning and Community Activation Unit within the City’s Safe Mobility Section and engage in research and policy development
- Waste Services (Business Development Student) - Help support our marketing and client relations team to increase public awareness and revenue for specific waste diversion initiatives. This includes selling recycled products like high-quality compost and recycled aggregate products created by Waste Services, as well as managing accounts for COE facilities

Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders
- Conduct business development and research activities (analysis, environmental scans, data collection and organization)
- Research and analysis including environmental and market scans as well as horizon scanning
- Support the development and implementation of presentations, reports, and plans
- Assist team with event coordination and related engagement support such as participation in conferences, tradeshows and/or workshops and participate in networking activities
- Support project coordination, planning, and progress monitoring
- Help with administrative and technical document management, including data management
- Act as a liaison between the City of Edmonton and external stakeholders regarding City programs and initiatives; respond to phone calls and emails to assist with inquiries
- Assist in evaluating projects, reviews and initiatives
- Assist with various elements of the policy development cycle including: issue identification, research, options development, public engagement, and evaluation
- Perform additional duties as needed
