IHRE AUFGABEN
As a member of our international research team, you will be responsible - together with partners inside and outside RWTH - for project work in international and national research projects. You will contribute your expertise in your specialist field and at the same time are open to interdisciplinary exchange.
We are currently looking to strengthen the team in the following - partly quite different - areas of research:
- Modern control approaches for electrical grids, for example on harmonic stability or virtual oscillators.
- Dynamic state estimation of electrical distribution grids, together with aspects of the optimal placement of sensors and research on suitable sensors.
- Architectures for scalable and flexible data platforms to support grid automation and the integration of renewable energies (see open source development SOGNO )
- Research on data complexity, interoperability, ontologies for electrical grid data and digital twins.
Development of a real-time capable simulation solver for electrical grids (see open source development DPsim ).Extension of a toolset for local and geographically distributed real-time co-simulations (see open source development VILLASframework )
The various tasks are aimed at power engineers, computer scientists and automation engineers as well as data scientists and simulation engineers. What all tasks have in common is the necessary and enriching way of thinking outside the box - we combine solutions to the challenges of energy transition with modern approaches from information and communication technology.
In the majority of projects, the project work leads to validations in the real electrical field at pilot partners of the joint projects. Our real-time simulation laboratory is also available on site as an important test environment for our scientists.
Which of the mentioned tasks are you interested in?
We are looking forward to your application!
