Research Assistant at the Neurobiology Research Unit, Rigshospitalet
A 1-year position as research assistant in experimental and translational neuroscience is available at the Neurobiology Research Unit (NRU), Copenhagen University Hospital Rigshospitalet, Denmark.
About your project
The project is aimed to identify novel radioligands for neuroinflammation in the brain with special reference to Multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. You will be validating novel radioligands for their ability to bind to various targets expressed in glia. You will be using both cell cultures and animal models of neuroinflammation to study the expression and function of these targets.
Eligibility criteria
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual who enjoys to work independently and in research teams. You may have a MSc or PhD in Neuroscience or related discipline. You may either recently have graduated, or have some research experience after your graduation. You have worked with methods and generated scientific results that are of relevance for the current project. The candidate will have good communication skills and fluency in English.
About NRU
Neurobiology Research Unit, the Neuroscience Centre, Rigshospitalet, is a research department located in the North Wing and employs approximately 125 scientists focusing on conducting translational neuroscience research with the aim to promote preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic advances for patients with neurological or psychiatry diseases. We make use of in vivo molecular, structural, and functional brain imaging (PET and MRI) combined with biochemical approaches and behavioral assessments to uncover disease mechanisms. NRU has newly established laboratory facilities, where most of the animal and cell models are conducted.

Terms of employment
Employment will start around August 1st 2024 and will initially be for 1 year.
The terms of employment and salary are in accordance with the agreement between Danish Regions and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the Regions.
