Job Overview:
We are a startup company seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cell Biologist with expertise in cell biology to join our dynamic team. As a cell Biologist, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of a novel cell separation system. Your expertise and knowledge in cell biology will be essential in working with our engineering team to design and build a cutting-edge technology that allows for gentle manipulation and analysis of cells. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of cell biology and cell manipulation technology.
The appointee will be based at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop a novel cell separation system that allows for gentle handling and analysis of cells.
  • Design and implement experimental protocols for cell separation, including sample preparation, staining techniques, and optimization of parameters.
  • Conduct hands-on experiments to evaluate the performance of the cell manipulation system, analyze data, and provide insights for further improvements.
  • Perform quality control tests to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the cell manipulation system.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cell biology and cell manipulation technologies, attending conferences, and participating in relevant scientific communities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the cell manipulation system into broader applications and workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation related to the cell manipulation process.
  • Customer support
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members/interns in cell biology techniques and experimental procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advance dioploma degree in relevant field of molecular and cell biology, biomedical sciences, biotechnology, bioengineering, or other life sciences.
  • In-depth knowledge of cell biology, cellular processes, and cell behaviour.
  • Proficient in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Experience with cell culture techniques, cell staining, and immunofluorescence and flow cytometry analysis.
  • Familiarity with cell viability assays and cell imaging techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
