The Faculty of Arts and Education is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creating and social development and fostering cutting-edge research and discovery. The School of Education places high emphasis on research that makes a difference and is solution-led. We work closely with industry partners and the government to put findings into practice.
The Girls As Leaders in STEM (GALS) Project provides a project-based STEM learning program for Year 5-8 girls and their teachers. Girls undertake a project during a school term, focusing on a locally identified authentic problem from STEM Industries and their community. They are mentored by STEM professionals, ambassadors and educators. A research and evaluation project runs alongside program implementation. Funded by The Invergowrie Foundation, Deakin University delivers the program in partnership with schools, Upstart, local STEM industries and professionals, and other delivery partners.
This position will liaise with, seek out, and manage relationships with industry and community partnerships within Deakin and external to Deakin to support the GALS project.
