Qualifications and Skills

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma (3 year program) or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years related research experience
  • Experience with coordinating research activities across multiple internal and external partners

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will support the Family and Child Health Initiative (FCHI) https://familyandchildhealth.ca – a multi-disciplinary focused research group supporting various community-based projects. The FCHI was founded in 2018 and is a group of multidisciplinary researchers and clinicians focused on improving the health and wellness of children, youth, emerging adults, and families in Peel Region, Ontario. Our position at the intersection of healthcare and community allows us to learn and work alongside community members and organizations to understand the strengths, issues, needs, and priorities in the area of family health and work towards collectively creating services and innovations that support all families to be well. Our community-based participatory research expertise includes qualitative and quantitative methods, social and organizational network analysis, and program co-design, implementation, and evaluation, and novel knowledge translation and exchange methods. We also have clinicians on the team that have worked with a diverse group of children, youth, families, and communities for many years in the area of pediatric health care. This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to the hospital setting, support innovative health research and to play a pivotal role in enabling and mobilizing health research within and beyond the walls of Trillium Health Partners. This role facilitates the responsible conduct of research through support of research studies within THP. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a multivariate stakeholder environment both independently and as part of collaborative multi-disciplinary focused research groups supporting various projects. This support includes coordinating research study logistics, undertaking daily study activities and meeting the ethics and regulatory requirements of various research studies. This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to the hospital setting, support innovative health research and to play a pivotal role in enabling and mobilizing health research within and beyond the walls of Trillium Health Partners.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for recruitment and consent, data collection and entry, and study coordination.
  • Web and literature review as directed by PI - guidance provided regarding appropriate sites and types of papers - help with extraction of basic research/scientific data from articles into spreadsheet.
  • Supports and leads tasks associated with event planning and management.
  • Provide administrative support for the collection, preparation, and organization of data for analysis and knowledge translation.
  • Provides support to researchers and research teams in the preparation and organization of materials for project team meetings, data collection sessions and for analysis, preparation of documents, web material for knowledge translation - dissemination of research results for academic and lay audiences. Some basic support for writing reports or presentations.
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
