Qualifications/Experience:
– Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
– Strong communication skills
The following qualifications/experience would be assets:
– Familiarity and proven experience with historical research methods
– Experience creating and/or working with oral history sources
– Experience working with primary sources
- Experience with the production of history-related products
– Project coordination experience
Duties:
– Participate in oral history methodological training
– Carry out contextual research related to experiences with the COVID-19 global pandemic in Manitoba
– Prepare oral history questionnaires tailored to specific interview subjects
– Schedule and participate in the recruitment of interviewees
– Carry out 12 oral history interviews (each interview approximately 2 hours long) related to experiences with the global pandemic in Manitoba and the ways in which technologies (old and new) impacted these experiences
– Schedule and complete interview transcription, summaries, and related archival documentation
and other relevant duties as assigned.
