Description:

We are seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Research Assistant to join the Computing Infrastructure research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by UKRI EPSRC and is fixed-term until 31 September 2024.
In this project, Oxford is leading research of dynamic-swarm networking, using programmable data planes and the P4 programming language to enable autonomous network-accelerated operations through in-network computing integration. the post-holder will be involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of an intelligent road side unit solution, and its integration with project partners’ contributions. The scope of the research will encompass aspects such as hardware acceleration, FPGA design, and sensor fusion. The role provides an exciting opportunity for a collaborative research with leading industrial and academic partners, involving aspects of networking, programmable hardware, and acceleration.
You should possess a relevant first degree together with experience in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Additionally, you should have an demonstrable knowledge in Computer Networks, Road Side Units and their operation as well as significant coding experience in both Verilog and Python and significant coding experience in both Verilog and Python, and working in a Linux environment and related scripting languages.
