At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technologies, Chair of Data-Driven Analysis and Design of Materials subject to budgetary provisions, we are filling the following position at the earliest possible date (no earlier than 15.08.2024) on a temporary basis for a period of three years:

Responsibilities:

  • research in the field of modelling and simulation of biodegradable implants and their surrounding tissue with the aim of scientific qualification (doctorate)
  • develop and implement appropriate Multiphysics models to describe the tissue-implant interactions
  • research the use of multidimensional surrogate models for the developed models
  • apply and further develop approaches for uncertainty quantification of the implemented models
  • compare the simulations with appropriate experimental data, and plan and perform experiments where required
  • present your research at scientific conferences and publish them in peer-reivewed journals
  • scientific teaching in the amount of approx. 4 semester periods per week in the form of tutorials and practical courses in the field of data science for Master’s (winter semester) and Bachelor’s (summer semester) students, with the aim of enabling students to work scientifically own their own
  • concept, prepare, examine and correct scientific academic performances of the students
  • build up, develop and administer the lecture-related practical (programming) courses
  • support the acquisition of third-party funding
