Company Description
Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland
The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading University. With over 6000 academic and professional staff supporting over 46,000 students, we are one of NZ’s largest employers. We have eight academic faculties and 11 service divisions creating a diverse, dynamic and complex organisational culture that demands excellence.
Our lecturers and health researchers are regarded as experts in their fields, frequently directing global research projects designed to better the lives of New Zealanders and the world and, in turn, passing this knowledge on to our students.
Job Description
TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an outgoing Research Assistant, ideally someone with healthcare experience (e.g. a Midwife or Research Nurse) to join our department on a part time casual basis, up to 20 hours each week, for 4-6 months.
We are running a questionnaire based study in antenatal (pregnancy care) outpatient clinics across Tamaki Makaurau. The study seeks to measure the adequacy of social resources (e.g. do people have enough food, access to housing, transport) in our community and understand how this might affect pregnancy outcomes.
We are looking for a friendly, approachable person who has experience with pregnancy and / or diabetes to provide study information, obtain consent, and collect questionnaire responses from mothers/people attending their routine appointments. The successful candidate will need to attend clinics held Monday-Wednesday at Central and South Auckland sites. There is possibility to split the role between candidates (job share).
