Description:
The Centre for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences in College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will perform a variety of functions related to research under the supervision of the PI or his/her designate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Relevant working experience in a university/industry environment is desirable
- Excellent team player with demonstrated ability to work independently
- Able to perform quantitative data analysis using relevant statistical tools (e.g. SPSS, STATA)
- Understanding basic social network analysis and relevant software for social network analysis would be an advantage
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
- Assist with in-house data collection and updating on research grants, research collaborations, research publications, and research areas/themes/specializations/trends of CoHASS faculty
- Work closely with Grant Consultants to conduct various in-house data analyses using basic statistics and quantitative methods, and draw insights based on the analysis presented in a visualized format
- Assist with College Research Office (CRO) grant workshops and research events
- Provide support for various CRO initiatives in terms of managing and updating the research intranet and other databases to keep them up to date
- Coordinate meetings, arrange focused group and roundtable discussions, and take minutes to foster research collaborations
