Description:

The Dementia Research Centre (Singapore) [DRCS], an establishment of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) was set up to pioneer cutting-edge research initiatives, to enhance understanding of cognitive impairment and dementia spectrum disorders, clinically. DRCS is a multi-study research centre focusing on the pathobiology of Asian Dementia and models of care for cognitive disorders. DRCS is helmed by Associate Professor Nagaendran Kandiah, an internationally renowned clinician scientist in the field of dementia.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic team as a Research Assistant.
As a Research Assistant at DRCS, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to contribute to the field of dementia research. The ideal candidate will have a background in nursing, counselling, psychology, or a related medical field, with a strong foundation in clinical work. The primary responsibilities will involve active participation in clinical trials, implementation of digital interventions, and effective liaison with research patients.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS VALUED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, counselling, psychology, or a related medical field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in clinical work
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial procedures and ethical guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software for data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Research Participant Liaison:
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants in accordance with study protocols.
  • Coordinate and schedule participant visits, ensuring compliance with research protocols.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with research participant.
  • Act as a point of contact between the research team and participant, providing necessary information and support.
  • Clinical Trial and Research Studies:
  • Conduct Neuropsychological Assessments
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and coordination of clinical trials related to dementia research.
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure adherence to protocols and ethical guidelines.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation and compliance with regulatory standards and study protocols regarding SAE and AE reporting.
  • Digital Interventions:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of digital interventions aimed at early interventions for mild cognitive impairment
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of digital interventions in research settings.
  • Data Management:
  • Collect and manage research data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the data analysis team to ensure the integrity of research findings.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude towards colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within DRCS and external collaborators
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and research participants
