Salary: Academic A – $80,258- $108,906 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% super

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will be a sensitive and empathetic individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.

You will also have:

  • An Honours or Masters level qualification in the field of psychology or a cognate discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders in the research environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals and meet agreed deadlines.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position involves delivering a new psychotherapy in a clinical trial for Debilitating Symptom Complexes Attributed to Ticks (DSCATT), also known as Australian Lyme Disease. Based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Austin Hospital and funded by the NHMRC, the role includes working with a multidisciplinary team to test a therapy combining cognitive behavioural and acceptance and commitment approaches. Supervised by experts Professors Trudie Chalder and Sarah Wilson, this role is ideal for a Master of Psychology graduate seeking a Registrar position.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete provided training in new psychotherapy
  • Deliver the new psychotherapy under supervision within a clinical trial.
  • Supervise innovative neuroimaging of participants
  • Co-produce conference and seminar papers and publications and attend and present at conferences and seminars where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in the communication and dissemination of research as required.
