POST SUMMARY

The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing, TILDA ( tilda.ie) is seeking a Research Assistant who wishes to contribute to a well-established study with a strong reputation for producing high-quality, policy relevant research on ageing. The key responsibility of the role will be to assist the TILDA team on research projects related to biological samples archived in TILDA Biobank. The TILDA Biobank is a core resource of biological samples and data for TILDA researchers and institutional scientists, as well as external academics and scientists. The successful candidate will assist with sample selection strategies and retrieval of biological samples for new and existing biomarker projects. This position will be suitable for someone with a biological background who has practical laboratory skills and experience in handling human blood, DNA, saliva and/or faecal samples. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to work with large numbers of biological samples from an established study such as TILDA. The successful candidate will undergo training using TILDA-specific protocols and requirements for data protection, and study-specific health and safety protocols.
