Description:

The postholder will work as a Research Associate in the group of Prof Matthew Gibson in Manchester Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Manchester. The project will explore new avenues of cryopreservation of mammalian cells, with a focus on 2 and 3-D models. This will involve their preparation, functional analysis and study of recovery after cryopreservation. We will use, and have experience of,s4 modern cryobiology tools, including macromolecular cryoprotectants and gene delivery. You will undertake both the cell culture and synthetic polymer chemistry for this project. The Research Associate will report directly to Professor Matthew I. Gibson. A strong research and publication track record for the career stage is essential. You must have excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and teamworking skills.
