REQUIREMENTS

• Completed university studies (M.Sc.) in natural sciences or engineering
• Previous practical experience in cell culture, histology and microfluidics is an advantage
• Hands-on experience in advanced microscopy techniques (e.g. Raman, FLIM, multiphoton)
• First experience in image analysis, multivariate data analysis and programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, LabView)
• Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research activities (life science and engineering)
• Very good knowledge of English as well as a structured, independent way of working

We are seeking for an enthusiastic scientist to develop and analyze patient-derived in vitro models to study the pathogenesis of endometriosis in a microfluidic platform. The impact of the microenvironment, biomechanics and immunological drivers will be emulated in vitro and monitored using high content analyses for spatial and temporal resolution of pathomechanisms. The scope of work includes:

• Cultivation of human primary cells and biomaterials for the development of an endometriosis-on-chip model
• Implementation of in situ measurements (Raman, Multiphoton) of ex vivo tissues and 3D tissue models
• Establishment of correlative data analysis pipelines for multimodal spectral imaging data (Raman, HSI, MALDI)
• Presentation and publication of research results
