Description:
The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate. The Research Associate will assist in conducting research on improving AI algorithms and pilot system for depression detection using speech and text information.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist in developing multimodal algorithms that can detect early signs of depression from speech and text information.
- To assist in designing, developing, and acquiring voice and text corpus for early depression detection with at least 100 individual subjects.
- To collaborate with other project team members to develop baseline systems and improve the system’s accuracy from time to time.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related fields.
- Relevant knowledge and strong background in text processing and speech technologies, especially in depression detection and healthcare domain.
- Experience in building and evaluating algorithms in the speech and language technology field.
- Strong in the following programming languages and frameworks: Python, Pytorch, Keras.
- Strong publication record.
- Good communication and writing skills
- Excellent teamwork and experience with supervising junior members or students.
