An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN).
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced postdoctoral research associate to join an exciting translational research project funded by the US Department of Defense. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team under the joint supervision of Prof Pamela Shaw and Dr Richard Mead in collaboration with the Pharma company AclipseOne. The project will focus on developing a patient stratification approach for MND based on drug response by using patient-derived cells (neurons and astrocytes) and biosamples, such as blood, in combination with transcriptomics.
The candidate should be passionate about neurodegenerative disease research, ideally with a track record of translational research in this area.
You will have a strong background in molecular and cellular (neuro) biology with experience in a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques Your role will be embedded in very dynamic research groups. Team spirit and an impeccable work ethics are essential.
This post is fixed-term for 2 years and is available immediately. Salary will be competitive and will be set at the appropriate point on the post-doctoral research associate scale.
